About David Gage
After 35 years of judicial experience, he is looking for a new challenge and a new role in public service. He promises to bring with him a wealth of experience, extensive knowledge, and the compassion that clients deserve. After years of serving all of New London County, he looks forward to coming home to serve his local clients in the Shoreline area.
He is a lifelong resident of the Lyme area. He resides in Lyme with his wife Noelle and his children Victoria, Amelia, and Jake, as well as two rescue dogs, Morton and Jack, and his adopted cat, JC.
With a strong educational background, David graduated from Eastern Connecticut State University in 1985 with dual majors in political science and history. He continued his academic journey, completing his legal studies at Quinnipiac Law School in 1988. Since 1989, he has been a licensed attorney in the State of Connecticut.
Judicial Career
Gage started with the CT Judicial Branch as an Assistant Clerk in 1988. He has been in Court Operations for the Branch for over 34 years. He has been the Judicial District Chief Clerk for Court Operations in New London county from November 2011 to present. Prior to that, he was the Deputy Chief Clerk in Norwich for 18 years. He has been involved in running civilury, family, housing, criminal and juvenile matters. He has overseen family court in Norwich Superior Court for over 25 years and dealt with every facet of family court issues, including but not limited to, restraining orders, protective orders, divorces, custody cases, child support issues, guardian ad litem issues, and conservator issues.
He is well schooled in jurisdictional issues, both within the state system and with out of state courts. He has extensive knowledge in the use of the UCCJEA, which is the Uniform Child Custody Jurisdiction and Enforcement Act.
As the Chief Clerk of the New London Judicial District, he supervises approximately 60 employees on a regular basis and maintains the administration of the five courts in the county, including Juvenile Matters in Waterford, GA10 in New London, Part A Criminal / Civil in New London, Family/Civil Court in Norwich, and GA21 in Norwich. He has many long- standing relations with local lawyers, family relations officers, and social workers who practice in this area.

He possesses a comprehensive understanding of the Uniform Child Custody Jurisdiction and Enforcement Act (UCCJEA) and has navigated complex issues across multiple juvenile and probate courts.
Throughout his judicial career, David has collaborated with over 200 judges and legal professionals, accumulating a wealth of wisdom and experience. In his current role as Chief Clerk of the New London Judicial District, he manages around 60 employees and oversees the administration of five courts in the county.
Passion for Youth Sports
Beyond his legal career, David has been actively involved in youth sports for more than 25 years. He has coached at various levels, from park and recreational to travel softball and baseball, fostering the athletic and emotional development of countless children. His passion for coaching is a source of pride and fulfillment as he contributes to the growth of young athletes.
